12/23/10: Legend in Her Own Mind

That thing with the thought bubble being inside the elevator was so, so much cooler in my head. I was trying to emphasize that Alex's perceptions of her new world are not necessarily value-accurate (i.e.; "Cool! An actual hobo!") The thing happening here was the idea of her world-view being extremely localized: there's the little bubble of what Alex is feeling, and then there's what's actually happening. Rose-tinted glasses, in other words.

So I tried to represent this visually by having Alex's thought bubble follow her into the elevator, which doesn't work right. In a movie, the equivalent would be her inner monologue fading out as the doors closed. And I'd be curious to see if that effect worked better in the medium of the motion picture, because it really didn't work right here. Entirely, entirely my fault. Embarassed

It's cool. I fixed it up. Took all of like, 2 minutes to do.

I'd actually kind of made peace with that - I figured I pestered you enough on this front - but that's actually pretty cool.
